Mini Van conversion - Born 2008 still adapting 2018
When I began to travel as a single person, it made no sense to me to check into a motel room to sit around by myself. So, I started sleeping in my van. It only made sense then, to BUILD A BED. That decision, which started out as a just a way to help me get from Florida to the northern states to see my family, ended up giving me freedom to travel that I never could have imagined.
From the moment I leave my house on Sanibel until I return, even when visiting friends and family, I sleep in the same bed.
The first van was a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country - affectionately called the Lima Bean. She retired in 2014 and was "replaced" by Ruby Jo - a Honda Odyssey.
My van conversion is a bit different - because for 10 months of the year she must be ready to cart around people and stuff. So the conversion MUST be reversible.
Here's the construction. More to follow.
